I had met Whitney a few months ago at an AFE Foundation fundraiser my friend had created.   She said she had heard my story and then asked  if I would sit for an interview on her show.  I said of course, but she had to read the book.  That was really the extent of our conversation.  Now here is where I get more confirmation that there are #NoCoincidences.

The first connection I had to the show was when her producer called me to confirm the date and to also see what pictures and videos I had for the show. Then we started talking about other things.  I found out that her niece, 18 years ago, had suffered an amniotic fluid embolism at the time of her delivery.  The baby survived. Unfortunately, mom did not.  Another life stripped from a family in a blink of an eye. A very raw and emotional conversation ensued.  I was exactly in the right place and participating in the right show at the right time.

Heartbroken on both of our ends, I just wanted to hug her.  And when we shot the show this week, I told her the AFE Foundation and as long as moms are dying in childbirth, I will not stop talking about it.  Then I hugged her.  But the “coincidences” didn’t stop there.

As I am walking in to the green room, Whitney stops me and asks “Did you have your AFE in 2013?”  I said “Why?”  She said, “Well, I was talking to my best friend. And not my casual friend on Facebook.  My BFF, maid of honor at my wedding, best friend. And we were talking about what I was shooting on today’s show and I told her.  She then asked if you had your AFE in 2013 and I said I didn’t think so because you looked too good to be only 2 years out. So did you?”  I said “Thank you and yes, it was May 2013.”

She then proceeded to tell me when she was on her honeymoon her BFF called her and said “You need to pray for this mom and her family.  She is going to die.”  I asked, “How did she even know me or my story?” Whitney answered “She was your ICU nurse.”

I cried. #Nocoincidences
